School Board Candidate – CHUCK PACE

Last year, Chuck Pace was appointed to fill Katrina Callsen’s Rio District seat on the Albemarle County School Board. After a year in service, Chuck now faces an election this November to fill the rest of Katrina’s term.

I’m writing to ask you to support Chuck as the Rio District School Board candidate and to help him win this race. We all like to think of the School Board as a non-partisan position, and in an ideal world it would be. Chuck himself doesn’t see education through a partisan lens. But we don’t have to tell you that local public education has become a hotbed for radical MAGA ideas. Chuck is likely to have an opponent who will claim to be “independent” but in reality will be another Republican in disguise — just like Meg Bryce, daughter of Justice Antonin Scalia, was last year.

For that reason, the Albemarle County Democratic Committee recently endorsed Chuck. In doing so, we add our support to that of Chuck’s fellow School Board members and former Rio School Board member (now Delegate) Katrina Callsen.

As Rio’s School Board member for the last year, Chuck has demonstrated his commitment to (in his words) “fostering an educational environment where every student feels respected, empowered, and supported.”

Chuck has a long and distinguished history in public education as a science educator, high school coach and ACPS parent. Learn more about Chuck’s experience and positions HERE.

Even a School Board race needs resources to get out the word. If you’re in a position to help Chuck spread his message, please donate to him through ActBlue HERE or by sending a check to Chuck Pace for School Board, 1546 Old Brook Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901.

Thanks for your support. Let’s keep Albemarle County public schools strong!

Bruce Kirtley, Chair
Albemarle County Democratic Committee
