An estimated 1,000 Charlottesville and Albemarle County citizens participated in the local “May Day!” rally on 1 May 2025 at the County Office Building. The event was one of more than a thousand similar rallies taking place across the country. The chanting and fired-up crowd was commemorating a day of labor solidarity and opposing the Trump administration’s policies that are harmful to working-class citizens. Traffic along the road provided a constant flow of support for the protestors.
