Gary is an accomplished servant leader with many years of professional experience in the private sector as well as the non-profit sector. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and served five years as an Officer in the Army. He has worked for two Fortune 500 companies, an international software company, as an Executive Director for the YMCA and as CEO for the Boys & Girls Clubs in Danville, VA. In addition, he has been the Board Chair for two youth serving non-profit organizations.

Gary is a moderate, pragmatic problem solver that wants government to work more efficiently. He believes that the federal government serves to protect its citizens and provides infrastructure for states, local governments and its citizens. As such, his priorities will focus on four areas. These are Economic Development, Healthcare, National Security and Good Governance. These four broad areas encompass health and welfare of citizens, protection of civil liberties, security from foreign threats, creating economically strong and thriving communities, and ensuring that the government continues to effectively serve all Americans.

Gary wants to use the skills he developed in the military, private, and non-profit sectors as a problem solver who can reach across the aisle to guarantee the rights, freedoms, and benefits government can provide when we set aside our differences and agree that America should be one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.

Gary lives in Danville Virginia. He is a Mason, a member of Rotary, Kiwanis and the Lion’s Club. He has three sons and one granddaughter. Gary enjoys hiking, camping, reading, theatre, and mentoring youth in athletics and for success in life.
