Albemarle County Democratic Committee Calls On Governor Northam To Step Down

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The Albemarle County Democratic Committee released the following statement regarding recent events involving Governor Ralph Northam: “We join with the statements of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus, the Senate Democratic Caucus, the House Democratic Caucus and the Democratic Party of Virginia. The photo from Governor Northam’s 1984 yearbook page is reprehensible, racist and offensive to our shared values. We also believe Governor Northam’s response  critically undermined any moral leadership he might hope to provide as the Governor of the Commonwealth. Based upon our loss of confidence in his ability to lead, we call for his immediate resignation.”
